If I asked you what is your prayer life like, what would you say? Being more specific, if you were asked how do you pray and what do you ask God for, what would you say then? I can honestly share with you that when I pray, probably about 70% of my prayer contains prayers of petitions in which I ask for something and I also pray for those who asked me for prayers. I pray for myself, I ask God to watch over my family members, for those who died, probably 20% of my prayer would be thanksgiving to God for what I have receive from Him. Probably the rest of it would be praising God for how Great He is to me. Yes, most times I keep asking for something, often forgetting how wonderful my God is and that I should adore and praise Him more. I came to this reflection reading the Gospel today when Jesus begins his prayer this way: “At that time Jesus exclaimed: "I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike.” I admire you, my God.
