Wednesday of the Fifth Week of Easter

Have you ever been humiliated by someone else? Well, I have, not once but several times. It is not a pleasant experience, but some of us need it at times. Especially when we think that we know everything, and we do all things better than others. But we also need to be corrected in our spiritual lives, at times even humiliated… because some of us may think that we are perfect, that we don’t need conversion, and that we are growing. But this is not necessarily true. Today Jesus tells us that He is the Vine, and we are the branches. We need to be connected to Him, otherwise we will die. At times we also need to be pruned in order to bring forth fruits and to grow healthy. “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower. He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and everyone that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit.” Don’t worry if you are being pruned at times, this is only for your good.
