Today Jesus’ words bring us hope and comfort, but also at the same time they might seem scary to us. Jesus is talking about the end of times and about the day of judgment - “the hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and will come out, those who have done good deeds to the resurrection of life, but those who have done wicked deeds to the resurrection of condemnation.” Nobody wants to be condemned; we all want to be saved and live. So, sometimes we may wonder if we have done enough to be saved by Jesus. And how to live to earn eternal life? Well, the answer is also in today’s gospel reading. Jesus said: “whoever hears my word and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life and will not come to condemnation but has passed from death to life.” We all are sinners and we all make many mistakes during this life/ However, if we truly believe in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and when we listen and follow the word of our Lord, we have nothing to worry about.
