Wednesday of the Seventeenth Week in Ordinary Time ‘c’

There are many things in this life that we desire, that we want to have. They could be material things, or a relationship. If we truly want something, we will make all kinds of sacrifices to reach our goal. Let’s say that you want to buy your first house. You would dream about that house and calculate how much money you need to save, what to sell, or where to get a good mortgage deal. Or if you really like someone, you will try to get that person’s attention, would try to get closer and closer to him or her. Nothing wrong with that -- some things in this life have great value to us, and we would do almost anything to get them. But how about reaching the Kingdom of Heaven, does that have a great value for you? What do you do to get to Heaven? Do you think about that very often, do you calculate what to and how to prepare yourself for it? Jesus reminds us today that The Kingdom of Heaven should be for us more valuable than anything of this world.
