Wednesday of the Third Week of Lent ‘b’

Tolerance is very important today. We want others to respect and tolerate us, and we should do the same to others -- to those who are younger or older, those who are different, those who speak different languages, and those who came from another culture, those who belong to another religion, and even those who have different political views than mine. However, we can’t accept any kind of sin in the name of tolerance. And some people would say: don’t judge me, I can do whatever I want, Jesus still loves me. Yes, Jesus will always love us - no matter what. But we can’t take advantage of His love and do whatever we want. We must follow God’s commandments and live according to Jesus’ teachings. “Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place.’” We must be tolerant towards each other, but we can’t accept or tolerate any kind of sin.
