We read today: “When Jesus came to the territory of the Gadarenes, two demoniacs who were coming from the tombs met him. They were so savage that no one could travel by that road.” I think I would be scared too and would avoid meeting those possessed man. It is better not to get involved. However, Jesus had the power to free those people from the demons and to make them free again. In our modern world, possession by evil takes several different forms -- addictions, toxic relationships, lust, not getting involved, pretending that we don’t see the problem, avoiding possessed people. We may have no power to free another person from those evil possessions, but we can pray for Jesus to make them free again. They may not even be aware that they are possessed.
