Wednesday of the Thirty Fourth Week in Ordinary Time ‘a’

Today Jesus says that “by your perseverance you will secure your lives.” I knew the meaning of ‘perseverance’, but I looked it up again. This is what I got: “perseverance is determination in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.” This is exactly what Jesus wants from us, His disciples, i.e., to be determined and never give up on following Him and keeping our faith. This world will try to convince you that God doesn’t exist, that keeping your faith is a waste of time, that religion is only for weak people. “You will even be handed over by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death. You will be hated by all because of my name, but not a hair on your head will be destroyed,” said Jesus. If we keep faith in Jesus, despite all the challenges and difficulties, then one day we will be rewarded for that.
