Wednesday of the Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time ‘a’

There is so much injustice in our world, and it is always very sad to see or hear how those with authority take advantage of the innocent. However, it is even more heartbreaking hearing about those ordained priests or religious who, instead of serving God and His people, use people’s and their own positions to gain power, money, or even to hurt others. It is hard to understand how come there are people like that, and why God even allowed them to become priests. But Jesus was aware that even in His Holy Church there will be many sinful and bad people. He calls them ‘false prophets’- they have always been present in our Church and always will, and God will judge them accordingly. But we need to ask God to help us to learn how to recognize them and to run away from them. “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves. By their fruits you will know them.”
