Feast of the Visitation of The Blessed Virgin Mary

Covid truly separated us from each other -- no physical contact and no visits; we connected with others mostly virtually, from a distance. Most things are much better now than a year ago and we can now attend graduations, baptisms, weddings, birthdays, and many more events. But because of the pandemic, we realized how important technology became. Without leaving our homes, we could talk and see our loved ones even when being separated by thousands of miles. Today is the feast day of the Visitation of The Blessed Virgin Mary. Mary traveled a long distance to visit her relative Elizabeth. Back then, she couldn’t make a phone call, nor see her on the screen of her computer. She needed to travel quite a long distance on foot, and she did it, just because she cared and loved Elizabeth and wanted to be with her and share the good news of both their pregnancies. I think today some of us are just too lazy, and we don’t even make a phone call to those who love us and wait for that simple connection. Mary teaches us that relationships are very important.
