Monday of the 2 week of Advent ‘c’

In this Gospel reading, what surprises me the most is the determination of the people who brought that paralytic man to Jesus. Just think about that -- they were unable to get close to Jesus because of the crowds gathered around Jesus, so what they did? They climbed to the roof of the house where Jesus was staying and lowered that poor man on the stretcher right in front of the Lord. “When Jesus saw their faith, he said, as for you, your sins are forgiven.” We all need God’s forgiveness and healing, but are we as determined as those people from the Gospel today? Do we have faith that Jesus can restore us to fullness of life? Because if we did, we would do everything we could in order to get close to Jesus.
