Monday of the Twenty Fifth Week in Ordinary Time ‘c’

Jesus said: “To anyone who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he seems to have will be taken away.” But we may ask: isn’t this unjust? How come those who have, will get even more and those who have only a little, even what they have will be taken away? Well, this may sound unjust when we talk about the riches of this world. However, Jesus refers here to our spiritual life. We need to grow in faith. We can’t only stop at one point hoping that God would take care of everything else. We need to cooperate with His grace. If we do, and if we grow spiritually, then God will bless us with so much more. But if we don’t, even what we were given will be taken away from us. “No one who lights a lamp conceals it with a vessel or sets it under a bed; rather, he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light.” We are called to shine, to give good example.
