Saturday of the 31 week in ordinary time

Do you remember our first commandment? Yes, we have one God and there is no other God. God always wants to be first in our lives and nothing should replace Him. But sometimes in life we get so attached to many other things, and then we make them like gods that we long for, that we desire, that we worship. These ‘gods’ can be money, possessions, fame, addictions or even relationships. These things can be so attractive that sometimes can replace our only God that we have- our Father in Heaven – with these substitutes. Jesus tells us today that we cannot serve two masters. There is only one Master that we should desire, that we should love above everything else and that we should worship. Let’s think today if there are any other gods in our lives that sometimes replace my Heavenly Father.
