Saturday of the Tenth week in ordinary time ‘c’

If someone lied to you once or twice before, you most likely won’t believe that person anymore. Perhaps you might ask him or her for a proof, or maybe even to swear that what he or she is saying is true. I hope you are not that kind of person that likes to create stories about other people. We, Christians, are called to speak only the truth. And if you never lie, then nobody would ever ask you to prove that what you are saying is the truth, you wouldn’t even need to swear to it. Remember when Jesus was tested, and others asked Him for the proof that whatever He is saying is true? Did He give them any proof? No. He simply said -- you have seen enough things that I have done, that should be enough. It is not about me; it is about your hardened hearts that you can’t believe. We don’t need to swear on anything, we don’t need to prove anything, we just need to show to others that whenever we speak, we don’t lie. “Let your ‘Yes’ mean ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ mean ‘No.’ Anything more is from the Evil One.”
