Tuesday of the Twenty Fifth Week in Ordinary Time ‘c’

With some people, we are related by blood and with some others by the faith that we share. That’s why in our Catholic Church we often relate as brothers and sisters in Christ. Jesus reminds us about that today too. He says that: “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it.” Jesus is being very specific and very clear -- it is not enough just to be baptized Christian to call ourselves children of God. We need to do more -- we need to listen to God’s words and then act on them. Again, we are called to action, to act on the word of God, namely, to express our love for God and for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
