How many times do we feel that our prayer is ineffective? We may spend hours on prayer just to realize that our thoughts were wandering somewhere else. Or we recite the prayers that we know so well so that our mouths are repeating them, but we don’t meditate on them. Today is the memorial day of Our Lady of the Rosary, and I myself can recall the times that I often said the rosary but was not truly paying attention to the words and mysteries that I was supposed to meditate on. I think the disciples had similar concerns. How to pray, how to pray to make our prayers effective, how can we truly talk with God and listen to Him? Jesus, teach us to pray, the disciples asked, Jesus teach me to pray. I am asking for this today and only you can help me and teach me how to pray, how to talk to you, how to be with you.
