Wednesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time ‘c’

We should be able to trust our leaders, hoping that they always want what is best for us. Even more than that, we should always trust our church leaders, our priests, pastors, and bishops, because they were chosen to lead us closer to Christ. Unfortunately, history shows that even some of those who are chosen and ordained seek their own fame and gain. They will preach with great passion, sharing the message of love, and try to convince us that all they care about is our wellbeing and salvation. Instead, some look for their own reward. Jesus is aware of this, and we also should be aware and smart, trying to learn whom we can trust and whom we should avoid. “Jesus said to his disciples: Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves. By their fruits you will know them.” Evil will seem attractive and alluring and that’s how it wants to present itself to us, However we need to pray and ask for wisdom in order to be able to recognize a good, trustworthy, and holy prophet.
