We are still rejoicing in the octave of the Nativity of the Lord. However today we are disturbed by the envious King Herod who wanted to kill the baby Jesus. Instead, He massacred so many innocent children. “He ordered the massacre of all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinitytwo years old and under, in accordance with the time he had ascertained from the magi.” But when I think about this, I realize that today is not much different. Even when most of us celebrate the joyous days of the Nativity, there will be those who would prefer to remove Jesus from our society. Those who will try to convince us that Christmas is not about Jesus, and that they feel offended by hearing His name. There will be those who would tell us that killing an innocent child is a matter of personal choice, and we have no right to tell them that this is wrong and it’s sinful. Mary and Joseph did everything to protect baby Jesus, and now this is our mission -- to defend God, to defend human life.
