Friday of the Twenty Fourth Week in Ordinary Time ‘c’

Since the time of our baptism, we have become Jesus’ disciple and so we have a specific mission to fulfill. That mission is to spread the Good News of Salvation -- in other words, to talk about, to point out, and to bring others to Jesus. However, many of us Christians keep forgetting about this mission and just lock their Christianity within the walls of the church. Don’t get me wrong -- praying, receiving the Eucharist and the other sacraments, listening to God’s word are necessary for our spiritual wellbeing. But we are also called to act -- to go out and make sure that others, especially those who are not in the church, know about Jesus too. Today we read that: “Jesus journeyed from one town and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God.” He didn’t stay in one place only, but He journeyed from town to town. Our Christianity should be a mission journey too.
