Monday after Epiphany

Everybody on this earth knows the name Jesus, but some think of Him as only a historical figure, some as a prophet, some people think of Jesus as only a fictional person, and some truly believe that He is God and Human who came to this earth: “and the people who sit in darkness have seen a great light, on those dwelling in a land overshadowed by death light has arisen.” Even when Jesus was walking around on this earth performing miracles, some came to Him only to be healed, because they saw in Him only a great physician, not the Son of God. We read today that the great crowds followed Him, but not necessarily because they believed that He was the Son of God, but because they needed His help. Yes, the name of Jesus is very well known, but we need to think -- why do we follow Him? Is it only because we believe He will listen to our prayers and fix our problems, or do we truly believe that He is the Son of God.
