There are some people in this world who didn’t have the opportunity to learn about Jesus, or to personally get to know our Lord. Perhaps nobody ever told them about Him, or their knowledge is very limited. Maybe no one before invited them to join us and follow the Lord, or they simply have different beliefs. I believe that they still have a chance to be saved by our God. However, today’s gospel reading, and Jesus’ words contain a warning to those who did have the opportunity to learn about Jesus and were invited to follow Him, but they refused to do it. Jesus tells His disciples to go and proclaim the Gospel everywhere, but then He adds: “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.” It is different not to know the Gospel versus to refuse the Gospel and Jesus’ invitation. Let’s us pray for all those who refused to follow Jesus; there is still time to change and make the right decision.
