Monday of the First Week of Lent ‘a’

Where can you find Jesus today? I asked the children this question during one of our school Masses -- where is Jesus? I received very good and interesting answers. Some said that He is in Heaven, some that Jesus is in the Host that we receive, or in the Holy Eucharist, some said that Jesus comes to us when we pray, and He can also be found in the beauty of the world, in nature. Great answers, but only one student said that Jesus can be found in another person, even a person that we don’t like. How often we forget about that? We adore Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, we find Him in the scriptures and during our prayer, which is very true and important. But today Jesus himself reminds us that He also lives in another person, even the person that is marginalized: in the one who is cold, who is hungry, who is sick, who is in prison, even in the stranger. “Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.”
