Saturday of the Nineteenth Week in Ordinary Time ‘a’

Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” It is sad, because when I look around the church on Sunday, I don’t see that many children. Of course, there are some families that bring their children to Jesus systematically, pray with them, and make sure to give their children a good example of their faith. However, we know that we should have many more children and young families worshiping with us each Sunday. So, why do some parents decide not to go to church? I am not sure -- perhaps they have other activities, or maybe they think that their child is too small to be there for one hour, or maybe they don’t feel like they should bring them. Remember, we are responsible for the future generation of believers, we are responsible for the future of our church. So “let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
