Saturday of the Twenty Eighth Week in Ordinary Time ‘a’

I think that in our Catholic tradition, the Holy Spirit is a little bit underestimated. Just think about when you pray, how many times do you pray to Jesus, to God? You ask blessed Mary to intercede for you, or you petition one of your favorite saints. But how many times do you pray to the Holy Spirit? Even when you pick up a hymn book in your church, you will not find too many songs to the Holy Spirit. Today in the Gospel reading Jesus reminds us of the importance of relying on and praying to the Holy Spirit. He is the One who will guide you, help you fight with temptation, and the One that will help you to concentrate and choose the right words when you struggle with your prayer. Let us pray to that Holy Spirit more often.
