No one before spoke like Jesus. That’s why people were amazed when listening to Him. He invited people to love, to forgive, to share, to help others, to defend the truth. Even today when we read in the scripture about Jesus and His teaching, we are similarly amazed by what He was saying. That’s because we realize that if people followed His teachings, then this world would be a better place. Jesus gave us the recipe for our lives to be happy and fulfilled. But it is not just enough to listen to Him, nor even being amazed by His words; but if we want to be happy and make this world a better place, we need to actually do what we are called to, namely, to love God and our neighbor. The Gospel tells us today that “all spoke highly of Jesus and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth.” But we know that only a few followed Him. If you are amazed with Jesus, then turn that amazement into action and follow His example.
