Thursday of the 5 week of Lent

If someone asked you to take care of something valuable and important to him or her, you would probably take more care of that thing than you would of your own belongings. Because it would be a terrible thing to lose or to break something that was entrusted to me but doesn’t belong to me. What would I say to the owner? Today Jesus tells us: “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” And ‘keeping Jesus’s word’ also means to obey that word. While we are here in this life on this earth, we are entrusted with Jesus’s words and teachings. But one day, He will ask us how well we cared about what He left us. We can’t lose it, we can’t forget it, nor ignore it. We are responsible for holding on to that most valuable treasure that we have from our Lord; if we succeed, then we will never see death.
