The people in the synagogue couldn’t believe in the power and authority of Jesus Christ. Some of them thought of Jesus only as a great teacher and prophet, but Jesus proved to them that He was not only a teacher and prophet, but God. That’s why He even had authority over unclean spirits. I think that sometimes we tend to forget about the power of Jesus. We may read and listen to His wonderful words, think of Him as a great prophet, teacher, and even God, but we still need to remember that He has power to overcome any obstacles in our lives. The evil one will be tempting us, will try to manipulate us by telling us that everything is OK, even immoral ways of leaving. But Jesus is stronger than any evil and any temptation. Jesus has authority over everything!
