Tuesday of the Third Week in Ordinary Time ‘b’

I would often think about my vocation. I was asking God what His will for me is, what does He want me to do. But when I was asking Him that, I was thinking about a specific profession that I should pursue, or if I should get married and start a family, or if God wants me to serve Him as a priest. And after many years I realized that God’s will for my life, and God’s will for your life, is not only a specific vocation or career that you should follow. God’s will is enclosed in two commandments: love God with all my heart, mind and soul; then love my neighbor as myself. So, it truly doesn’t matter what profession we fulfill or what vocations we follow. In all that we do in life, we primarily need to love God and love another person. We should do this not only by our words, telling God and telling others ‘I love you’; we need to bring that love into action. If we do that, we will become Jesus’ family since He said “For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”
