“Jesus departed to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God.” And after that night in prayer, Jesus chose His twelve Apostles. I am sure it was a tough decision. From maybe hundreds of followers, Jesus needed those twelve. The Lord knew exactly what He was doing and whom He needed. He even chose Judas Iscariot who became a traitor. However, I think that Jesus wants to teach us an important lesson here. We need prayer, we need to spend time with God, especially while making an important decision in life. Before accepting that job offer, or choosing the school and future major for life, or considering a vocation to the priesthood or religious life or even when considering getting married, spend some time in prayer, ask God to help you making the right decision, ask Him to guide, to bless you, to protect you, and ask Him to make you an instrument in His hands.
