Wednesday in the Second Week of Christmas ‘b’

John the Baptist said: “the reason why I came baptizing with water was that he might be made known to Israel.” John’s call was not only to prepare people for the coming of the Messiah, but also to ‘make Him known’. We should ask ourselves today: what do I do in order to make Jesus known, what do I do to announce His presence among us? I am not saying that we should talk to any strangers about Jesus. We don’t have to try to convert a certain family member or co-worker to Catholicism. But by the good example of our living, by forgiving others, by our love that we share, by smiling, helping, saying thank you, and even by praying for those who are away from the church -- that’s how we will make Jesus known.
