Prayer and action, prayer leads to action. Prayer is important but is meaningless if it doesn’t lead me also to act. Jesus went to a deserted place to be alone and to pray. Reading the Gospel, we can see that Jesus prayed often, but that prayer always led Him to act and to help others by curing their diseases, by freeing them from oppressions and evil spirits. Today Jesus shows me the importance of both prayer and action. We know that faith without deeds is dead, and similarly our prayer without good deeds are also dead. We need to go out to this broken world of ours and act, act like Jesus, by bringing to this world all that is good.
