What else can we ask for? We have Jesus present among us in the Holy Eucharist. Each time when we come to Mass, we are privileged to receive the Body of Christ that will give us life which never ends. Do you truly believe in this? It is not always easy to respond to ‘the Body of Christ’ with AMEN, I do believe -- since our senses will tell us otherwise. However, Jesus is here, and He is giving Himself to you and me. By receiving Him in the Eucharist, we should become more like Him, we should become holy. Yet many Catholics expect some extraordinary things to happen to them which would strengthen their faith. They would travel to the most majestic basilicas in the world, follow and listen to famous preachers, and expect some kind of sign from heaven. But they keep forgetting that Jesus is right here in our midst. They keep forgetting that we don’t have to travel far because we have the most precious treasure here with us. And don’t get me wrong, listening to great preachers and visiting holy places is very moving and important, but those things should only help us to increase our faith that Jesus is here with us. Jesus said: “At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here.”
