Wednesday of the Twenty First Week in Ordinary Time ‘a’

As you know there are different practices of receiving Holy Communion during Mass. Most of us receive it on the palms of our hands, but others would prefer to receive it on their tongue. Also, most would stand, and some prefer to kneel. All depends on what we were taught and where we come from, since there are some different practices in other cultures. For me it doesn’t matter how you receive the Eucharist. More important is how are you prepared for Jesus’ coming. It is not what appears outside, but what’s inside of you. Because you can kneel, bow, and stick out your tongue for Jesus, but there still might be some anger, hatred, and all kinds of filthy and sinful things inside of you. Jesus wants you to get rid of all that is bad and sinful before receiving Him. He said: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men's bones and every kind of filth. Even so, on the outside you appear righteous, but inside you are filled with hypocrisy and evildoing.”
